26-years-old and already six films into his directing career, Xavier Dolan will make his English-language debut with his seventh. Jessica Chastain, Kathy Bates, Susan Sarandon and Kit Harington are already part of the cast for The Death And Life Of john F. Donovan, and they're now joined by Taylor Kitsch.

Harington has the title role in the drama, which involves a Hollywood star's career being destroyed when people start making assumptions about his correspondence with an 11-year-old actor. Chastain plays the editor of a gossip rag. Kitsch's role hasn't yet been revealed, but is being described as "unique".

Since his almost-disastrous 2012 in which he toplined both John Carter and Battleship, Kitsch has regrouped, working with Oliver Stone in Savages and to rather different effect with Battleship director Peter Berg in Lone Survivor. Most recently he's been enjoying something of a comeback in True Detective.

Dolan, meanwhile, immediately followed his festival hit Mommy with It's Only The End Of The World. That one stars Léa Seydoux, Marion Cotillard and Vincent Cassel and is currently in post-production for a release sometime next year.
