She’s used to playing up to seven distinct, if cloned, roles – sometimes several at once in Orphan Black. But Tatiana Maslany will settle for just one part in the new Holocaust survivor drama The Woman In Gold, as she’s in talks to sign on{ =nofollow}.

Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren are leading the cast, which is drawn from a true story. My Week With Marilyn director Simon Curtis is overseeing the film, working from Alexi Kay Campbell’s script.

The Woman In Gold follows Mirren’s character, who is on a crusade to retrieve long lost family heirlooms, including priceless Gustav Klimt paintings, from the Austrian authorities 60 years after the Nazis stole them from her home. Reynolds is set as the lawyer who takes her case. As for Maslany, she’ll be attempting a trick pulled off by Jessica Chastain in The Debt, playing the younger Mirren in flashback scenes to World War II. Given her experience inhabiting other characters, we don’t predict it’ll be too much of a challenge for Maslany.

In addition to her work on Orphan Black, Maslany – who is in serious demand given her breakout role in the series – will appear in revenge tale The Paper Store.
