Tamsin Egerton Set For Grand Piano

The cameras have already begun rolling on indie psycho-thriller Grand Piano. But that isn’t stopping director Eugenio Mira from beefing up the cast with the likes of Tamsin Egerton, Kerry Bishe, Allen Leech, Alex Winter and Don McManus.

Elijah Wood is in the hot seat (literally, if he’s not careful), playing a retired piano virtuoso who stopped performing when he developed crippling stage fright. A psychopath (John Cusack, who between this and T****he Frozen Ground, seems to be developing a taste for creeps) decides to force him back into the limelight by threatening him and his family / friends. The central conceit finds a bomb placed under a piano during a crucial performance.

With a script by Damien Chazelle, the production will jaunt between Chicago, Barcelona and Gran Canaria (sounds like a fun shoot) and should arrive next year.

Egerton, last seen in Chalet Girl, will next appear in Singularity. Bishe was in Red State and will next crop up in Argo. Leech is normally found in Downton Abbey, but is hitting the screen in The Sweeney. Winter, meanwhile, has his latest documentary, Downloaded, chugging through post-production.
