SuperSnipes

Wesley is our hero

After saving the world from blood-sucking vampires on no less than two separate occasions, you might think that Wesley Snipes had earned a night off from safeguarding human existence. However, far from taking a night off and putting his feet up like any normal unionised vigilante, Snipes will endeavour to clean up the streets once again in his next film, John Doe. Not the most conventional choices for a super hero, John Doe also takes a few notes from Memento and the other stack of recall-inhibited films currently in development by robbing its evil-thwarting protagonist of his memory. A homeless man without a clue as to his real identity, Snipes' hero sets out to try and unearth his past but, during his quest to reclaim his girlfriend and luxury home, he discovers an array of superhuman abilities that he - and presumably modern science - has no way to explain. Needless to say, a few ne'er-do-wells will surely fall foul of his abilities while he begins to find out that his past holds some terrible secrets. Throw in an evil assassin, hell-bent on his timely execution and we're well on the way. The film is being written and directed by first-time helmer, Zak Penn, who also contributed to the screenplays for Inspector Gadget and X-Men 2, so no stranger to the world of superhuman crimefighting.
