Fresh from a celebrated role in The Irishman, Stephen Graham is heading into comic book territory, landing a role in Venom 2.

Andy Serkis is in the director's chair for the movie, which sees Tom Hardy back as Eddie Brock, the investigative journalist who is merged with the alien symbiote and ends up causing chaos, but stopping an even worse threat. What he'll be up to in the sequel is anyone's guess at this point, but Michelle Williams is also returning and Naomie Harris will be a new face in the film, while Woody Harrelson is on to play Carnage.

Kelly Marcel wrote the script for this one, and Graham's role is, for now at least, a mystery. Venom 2 has started shooting and will be out next October. Before that, Graham will be seen in war drama Greyhound and in TV's latest adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
