We've known since last December's big Disney announcements day that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins was on board for a future Star Wars film called Rogue Squadron. Much about the movie remains a mystery, but we do at least know who is getting first crack at the script: Matthew Robinson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robinson – who co-wrote and co-directed The Invention Of Lying with Ricky Gervais and has since gone on to write movies such as Love And Monsters and the in-development Edge Of Tomorrow sequel – is now at work on a draft of the Squadron script.

The storyline remains a secret, but in her initial announcement, Jenkins mentioned drawing inspiration from her fighter pilot father, so we can expect plenty of Rebel starfighter action. The aim is to have the film in pre-production later this year for a 2022 shoot and a planned 23 December, 2023 release.
