While Sir Patrick Stewart is obviously going to be the focus of the new Star Trek show charting the later years of iconic Starfleet officer Jean-Luc Picard, it would be a weird show if he just wandered around a ship talking to himself (though we would still watch that). A cast is being built around him, and now newcomer Evan Evagora is joining the team.

The Aussie actor has largely been modelling and scoring small roles – he'll also crop up in next year's Fantasy Island film adaptation. As for what he'll be doing on the still-untitled Picard series remains to be seen; Deadline's report offers no details.

He's the latest recruit, joining Santiago Cabrera and Michelle Hurd as a regular on the show, which will arrive via the CBS All Access service in the US but has no set UK home yet. There's also no word on when it'll actually premiere, since it's yet to start shooting but would likely be ready for either later this year or early next.
