They walk down stairs, alone or in pairs, everyone loves a Slinky. They were the joy of your childhood, a marvel of seventies engineering and a right bugger to fix once you got them tangled. They were, of course, Slinkies: the revolutionary toys that demonstrated how stupid kids truly are when all they want for Christmas is a rather crap spring that you can chuck down the stairs. Hollywood seems to have only just latched on to the joy of Slinkydom however and no less than two separate studios have plans to bring the fabled spring to the screen. Henrique Vera-Villaneuva, former child star (apparently) and CEO H2V Entertainment told USA Today about his plans for an animated adventure based on the toy. "We are creating a completely imaginary, full world all based on the Slinky," he explained. "It's a bunch of characters, some of them new, such as the Slinky scarecrow and the Slinky robot, some based on the property known as the Slinky Pets." But wait, there's more. "The main character is a big Indiana Jones-type Slinky, "This character is on an adventurous quest, but it's a character-driven film, like Ice Age." Does anyone else feel like they've been drugged?
