Eddie Murphy will team up with Owen Wilson for I Spy, an action comedy loosely based on the 60s TV show. The film will be directed by Betty Thomas, who previously worked with Murphy on 1998's Doctor Dolittle. Wilson, who co-starred with Jackie Chan in last year's Shanghai Noon, will play a government agent who enlists an athlete (Murphy) to help him with his mission to find a missing jet. The TV show, which aired between 1965 and 1968, originally starred Bill Cosby and Robert Culp. The Murphy/Wilson version is set to go into production later this year, following the possible writers' and actors' strikes in the summer.
