This sounds like a complete wind-up, but according to the Daily Star, Ricky Gervais has been approached by none other than Steven Spielberg to take hit TV show The Office on to the big screen. Gervais tells the paper; 'I had a phone call from Mr Spielberg asking if I would be interested in doing a movie version. I said that of course I'd be interested. I'm flattered and just waiting for him to get back to me. I think it's a great idea.' According to the tabloid, the American bearded one is a 'huge fan' of fellow beardy David Brent and is convinced that the show would make the leap from TV to film successfully. Thanks to Dark Horizons for the tip-off.
