Spider-Verse Director Peter Ramsey Handling New Vampire Film

Peter Ramsey

Peter Ramsey could easily have rested on his laurels after co-directing Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and guiding it to an Oscar for animated feature. Instead, he's been busy directing TV work and setting up other projects. He'll now direct period vampire tale Blood Count for Paramount.

Ramsey also wrote the script for the film as a spec and, while the details are being kept wrapped in a cape for now, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that it'll be a film noir social thriller set in 1950s Los Angeles, and with a jazz angle, since it's reportedly loosely inspired by his father, a jazz musician.

Whether he gets to work on this one soon depends on how far along it is in development – he's also set up jazz biopic Love In Vain, also at Paramount, so he's got plenty to keep him busy. Oh, and he's an executive producer on the two Spider-Verse sequels (with one due this year), so you know he'll still be influencing the follow-ups.
