Just when you thought Into The Spider-Verse gave you everything you thought you needed from Marvel’s friendly neighbourhood webslinger, in thwips the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home – our first glimpse of the MCU post-Avengers: Endgame, which for now is choosing to fully side-step the huge Infinity War cliffhanger. Yes, Peter Parker is dust no more – and he’s on a school holiday with Ned and MJ, taking in the sights of London, Venice, and beyond. Watch the trailer here, packed with some huge-looking action and the punky, irreverent teen-movie vibe that was nailed in Homecoming.

There’s a lot to unpack here – Peter meeting Nick Fury, that Spidey stealth suit, Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, the fish bowl helmet. And who’s the mysterious villain that keeps attacking Peter and friends? While Mysterio is expected to be an antagonist in the film, he seems to be battling the other baddie here, warding him off with some distinctly Doctor Strange-like powers. Elsewhere, Ned and Zendaya’s MJ bring big laughs, it seems Aunt May is cool with Peter’s secret superhero antics, and she’s got plenty of chemistry with Happy.

UPDATE: An international trailer has also dropped, with a bunch of extra footage. Watch below from some more airport shenanigans, a cameo from St Pancras station, and some truly disappointing censoring of Flash's "dickwad" comment.

Frankly, this looks like a huge amount of fun – and we won’t have long to wait after Endgame before Far From Home kicks off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is currently set to arrive on 5 July, as confirmed by the new poster. Bring on Peter’s long-awaited – and much-needed, considering everything he’s already been through – European vacation.
