Kevin irked by Clerks slot

Director Kevin Smith is deeply peeved at US TV network ABC for deciding to give the upcoming animated Clerks series a summer slot instead of a spring airing - hobbling its chances of success. "May 31 pretty much ensures the show's failure, in my book," opines Smith, who points out that shows rarely survive a summer debut.

But the scheduling is not all that's irking the indie poster-boy. He's also furious that the decision comes from a Disney-owned company, garnering another black mark for the organisation that cried off Smith's film Dogma last year, leaving it in limbo until Lion's Gate picked it up for distribution. "I can't believe we got f_ed hard by the mouse twice in the span of a year. "F_ing suits, man. I don't know why I bother."
