After nipping across to the States to appear in a couple of films (M:I and the not-yet-released comedy Big Nothing), Simon Pegg is well and truly back in England. Hot Fuzz, the next film from Pegg, Edgar Wright and Nick Frost, was shot here and he’s planning to star in another UK-set film.

But this one has a little Hollywood flavour, too – it’ll be directed by David “Ross from out of Friends” Schwimmer and boasts a script by Michael Ian Black, one-third of US comedy team Stella and seen in Wet Hot American Summer.

Run, Fat Boy, Run tells the tale of a charming yet unsatisfied man who leaves his fiancée standing at the altar, only to realise his terrible mistake years after the event. He enters a marathon in the hopes of winning the woman he loves back, but faces a roadblock in the form of her sexy, rich new fiancé.

Gold Circle films is producing the film, which starts shooting in the UK next month.
