The Mummy Returns stormed to the top of the US box office this weekend, making it the highest box office opening outside one of America's holiday period. The film, which reunites Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, raked in a huge $70 million over the weekend - giving it the second-highest opening weekend ever (The Lost Word: Jurassic Park holds the top slot). The Empire Online team were lucky enough to catch a preview screening of the film last week and can report that one of the main attractions of this sequel will be the eye-popping special effects. Meanwhile, fans of The Rock may be disappointed by the amount of screen time the wrestler nabs. Londoners in particular may be a little surprised to note that the filmmakers have moved Big Ben to a spot beside Tower Bridge. The reasoning was that American filmgoers needed that extra bit of help to recognise the setting as London. Obviously double-decker buses and The British Museum weren't enough of a giveaway.
