Clive Owen in all-guns-blazing from? Paul Giamatti sneering and shooting as a villain? Monica Bellucci sexing things up as only she can? That’ll be Shoot ‘Em Up, then.
Latino Review has nabbed an exclusive chunk of promo footage from the film – essentially an extended trailer that New Line showed to prospective buyers at Cannes this year – and whacked it up online for us to enjoy.
Michael Davis’ madcap actioner certainly looks like a lot of fun, as Owen’s Mr Smith delivers a baby during a shoot-out and then has to protect the child from the gunmen out to finish them both (cough cough Hard Boiled cough). With Joe Carnahan’s Smokin’ Aces also due out next year, 2007 may well be the year of the OTT action movie - and considering how this year's Crank already raised the bar, that can only be a good thing.
