Shawn Levy Signs For Another Project

Some people are just greedy. While most of us would be happy having signed on for one potential blockbuster in a week, Shawn Levy's signed up for - count 'em - three. Yup, in addition to the recently announced The Hardy Men and his involvement in The Flash, Levy has just been named as the director of Marley and Me, a heartwarming family story about a neurotic dog.

Yes, that really is all there is to it. The story's based on a memoir by John Grogan, a columnist for the Philadelphia Enquirer. The book is apparently heartwarming and funny and all the rest, but it sounds like a shaggy dog tale if you ask us. Don Roos has adapted a script about "a family in the making and the wondrously neurotic dog who taught them what really matters in life".

This would be Levy's next film, with shooting due to begin in LA in April. That still gives him lots of time to work on The Hardy Men, which isn't likely to start shooting before 2008, while The Flash will presumably happen after that, making the world's fastest man rather slow to arrive. Still, at least we get puppy pranks to keep us busy in the meantime.
