With the trailer for The Adam Project already landing today and now this new project, you might think it's Shawn Levy News Day. But given how many movies and shows the prolific producer/director has bubbling away, that could be any day. He's now attached to direct an adaptation of a short story called Backwards.

The original story was written by mother-son team Julianna Baggott and Finneas Scott, and focuses on a dying father choosing a method to extend his life that involves reverse aging in a de-aging facility. Appointed to be his caretaker is his estrange daughter. As the years peel off, they are able to get to the core of where they went wrong as the father relives the memory of different portions of his life, experiences which made him an unlikeable person.

Netflix won the rights to the story in a bidding war so it's now in the early stages of development. Deadline's story mentions no screenwriter, but with Obi-Wan Kenobi's Joby Harold attached as producer, he might end up taking a crack.

Levy, as mentioned has The Adam Project landing via Netflix on 11 March, and we're all, of course, still awaiting Season 4 of Stranger Things.
