Further evidence that the Sex and the City movie might actually happen - they've cast someone who wasn't a regular on the show! Yes, Oscar-winner and American Idol loser Jennifer Hudson is donning her Manolos and joining the cast for what will surely be the best-dressed film of 2008.
Set four years after the end of the show (so pretty much in real-time then), Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristen Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) are still looking fabulous and talking about men (we're guessing). Hudson will play Carrie's assistant, which surely implies that she's stopped doodling meaningless columns about, "But I wondered, aren't we all just searching for the perfect pair of shoes?" and started writing meaningless books about it instead.
Chris Noth, aka "Mr Big" has also signed on, with the show's Michael Patrick King writing and directing. Filming's due to start in New York on September 19th, so if you see some extraordinarily well-dressed people in Manhattan around that time, look no further for an explanation.
