Manolo Blahnik fans of the world, rejoice! It sounds like the oft-rumoured (back when the show finished, at least) **Sex and the City **film may be back on after all.

For those of you who haven't been paying attention / have a Y-chromosone, the series followed four thirty-something New York women (well, Samantha claimed to be 39) as they negotiated the pitfalls of big city dating. And wore fabulous outfits. That's pretty much all there was to it, but it was sometimes hilarious and usually entertaining - and talked about the subjects that other comedies don't even dare double-entendre.

The film's been rumoured ever since the show ended, but without all four of the stars signing on it seemed perpetually in doubt. Since Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Davis, Kim Catrall and Cynthia Nixon were off doing other things, and since a film without all four is unthinkable, things stalled almost immediately amid rumours that none of them wanted to jump back into bed with each other due to on-set tension.

However, speaking to MTV, Mario Cantone (series regular and Charlotte's best gay friend) said that the series executive producer / director / writer, Michael Patrick King, has been in touch with him to check his availability to start filming this autumn. But don't get too excited - none of the central four have signed on yet, so this could still all go wrong. Watch this space for further news.
