Hot on the heels of** Identity Thief**, the comedy starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, director Seth Gordon will be calling the shots for **The Has-Beens.

That doesn't mean he'll be spending time on a set with a bunch of actors once known for greater things (or perhaps it does; details are scarce). The Has-Beens is a comedy being set up at New Line. It's been written by Max Werner, whose Halloween comedy Fun Size, about a girl who loses her little brother while trick-or-treating (Home Alone meets Michael Myers? Now that would be something...) is out this October.

Gordon made the awesome documentary The King of Kong before immersing himself fully in Hollywood comedies with Four Christmasses and Horrible Bosses. So with Identity Thief and The Has-Beens taking up the forseeable future, it's going to be a while before he surfaces. The former starts shooting in the summer, so we guess the latter will get going after that. Whatever happened to that fictionalised King Of Kong comedy-drama that Gordon was working on, we wonder?
