Seth Gordon To Direct Suicide Squad

Seth Gordon, the guy behind the brilliant documentary King Of Kong, is just days away from releasing his first fictional feature – the Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon comedy, Four Christmases – but he hasn’t wasted any time in lining up another.

He’s just signed on to direct the Universal Pictures heist movie Suicide Squad, about an often-paroled con man who recruits a team to rip off the Kentucky Derby.

Empire is a sucker for heist movies, so our interest is automatically piqued. The presence of Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner as producers – so often a sign of quality – also hasn’t hurt.

Screenwriting brothers Matt and Billy Eddy are currently revising the original script, by Chris Johnson.

It’s not yet clear, though, if this will be the next movie for Gordon, as he has a couple of other projects on his slate, including a fictional take on King Of Kong, and The Only Living Boy In New York at Sony.
