After a couple of photos and a set of character posters, the New York Comic-Con was the venue for the team behind the new Power Rangers movie to debut the first teaser trailer for the movie. Check it out below.
This first footage from the movie leans hard on the idea that our heroes, played by the likes of RJ Cyler, Becky G, Naomi Scott and Dacre Montgomery, are troubled teens looking for something to define their lives. They get much more than they bargained for when they discover an alien ship containing powerful suits and a chance to save the world from the evil that is Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks).
They're clearly holding off on the Zord action for now (the Rangers' vehicles are still being brought to life by the effects crew), but it's enough of a taste to see that director Dean Israelite really has gone for a more grounded tone than the usual campy Rangers feel. The movie itself arrives on 24 March next year.
