Just when you thought the awards season couldn't possibly get any more tense, the Screen Actors Guild go and announces their nominations, causing even more upheaval. Clint Eastwood's latest, Mystic River leads the way in this one with three nominations, tying, surprisingly, with Thomas McCarthy's indie comedy, The Station Agent. Tim Robbins, Sean Penn and the collective cast received nods from the voters. We were happy to see Johnny Depp getting recognition for his stellar turn in Pirates of the Caribbean and it's only just that Bill Murray get a look in forLost in Translation. No individual Lord of the Rings cast members stood out but Jackson's opus did get a thumbs up for its ensemble performance.
