Schumacher In Talks Over Batman 5

Although it was thought some months ago that he'd already committed to making the fifth Batman movie, director Joel Schumacher is only now said to be definitely in talks with Warner Bros. The director said yesterday that he had gone to the company with an idea for the movie and had talked to Warner's production chief, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. He told the LA Times that he "would only do it on a much smaller scale, with less villains and truer in nature to the comic book." With Warner Bros already having rejected George Clooney out of hand to reprise the role, it's thought that Kurt Russell is first in line to don the rubberwear.
