Usually when a Korean film is getting the Hollywood remake treatment, we’re talking horror.

But My Sassy Girl is a comedy that struck gold at the South Korean box office in 2001. The film follows an idiot who falls for a loud-mouthed, aggressive woman who constantly finds fault with him. Ah, love.

Bend It Like Beckham’s Gurinder Chadha will direct the adaptation next year, though a cast has yet to be announced.
