In the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Jedi Master Mace Windu falls to his death out of Darth Sidious' window... or so you thought. Or so everyone thought, in fact, apart from the man who played Mace Windu, Samuel L. Jackson, who recently spoke to E! and explained how he'd love to see his character come back into the fold.

Logically, Mace Windu coming back from his fall would be a pretty stretchy stretch. Even if he had survived –- by using, um, The Force, say –- where was he all this time? How could he be still kicking about after the events of episodes** IV**, V and** VI**? As much as we'd like to see his purple lightsaber swishing about, it's hard not to file the following quotes in the "wishful thinking" folder. But hey – what wishful thinking...

"I'm not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more Star Wars. It's like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I'm dead and we'll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that's still around that didn't actually die."

"I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don't care, I just want to stay associated with the franchise," Jackson continues. "I just always loved [the franchise]. I always loved the idea of it, that there's this whole civilisation out there somewhere else that's just as much fun and different and diverse and wild as we are."
