There's a very different Liam Neeson to be found in the new A Monster Calls trailer, but we'll find him on more familiar ground for thriller The Commuter. Three people have joined the cast, with Sam Neill, Elizabeth McGovern and Jonathan Banks aboard.

The thriller, which regular Neeson-wrangler Jaume Collet-Serra is gearing up to make, sees the actor as a businessman returning home from a day's work who unwittingly gets caught up in a criminal conspiracy that threatens not only his life, but that of those around him. Vera Farmiga is aboard to play a mysterious woman who drags him into the whole affair, offering an enticing opportunity, but one that comes with some deadly downsides...

Deadline's story makes no mention of what the three new faces will be doing, though we'd imagine they'll be caught up in what could be a Hitchcockian twist-packer written by Byron Willinger and Phil de Blasi, with production set to kick off next week, with an October 2017 release date pencilled in, but no UK date on the books just yet.

Neill will next be seen in the charming Hunt For The Wilderpeople, which is out on September 16. McGovern has spent the last few years on Downton Abbey, while Banks is currently best known for playing professional grouch/badass Mike Ehrmantraut on Better Call Saul.
