Keri Russell has signed on to star with Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories, a new "family adventure" with Adam Shankman directing.

The very lovely Russell follows up her practically perfect turn in Waitress as a potential love interest for Sandler's character, a real estate developer whose bedtime stories for his niece and nephew suddenly start coming to life, with predictably disastrous / hilarious / heart-warming and life-affirming consequences. Probably. Russell's character is cleary so well drawn that she doesn't merit any description beyond "potential love interest" but we're sure she'll do her best to make it more than a cardboard cut out.

Filming is due to start in February for a Christmas 2008 release date. In the meantime, go see Inkheart to see the same premise played out.
