Brady Corbet won awards for his feature directing debut, The Childhood Of A Leader, and he's going full steam ahead on his next film, music-focused drama Vox Lux. We now know who will be starring in the movie, as Rooney Mara has landed the lead.

Vox Lux, which Corbet plans to shoot on 65mm film for screening in 70mm, is planned as a 15-year story that spans from 1999 until the present day. Mara will be Celeste, a singer who rises to superstardom and observes the 21st century's big cultural changes.

And to make sure the music itself is authentic, he's scored the services of Sia to provide original songs for the movie and soundtrack. Brady has written the script and will start shooting in February.

Mara, on screens now (well, in a voice role at least) in Kubo And The Two Strings, has several movies on the way, including Terrence Malick's Weightless and drama Lion.
