Rogue Films has announced that it’s developing a remake based on the cult horror hits Faces Of Death.

The series of gruesome tapes started arriving in 1978 and failed to capture the public’s imagination. But they slowly grew into a hotly sought-after treat for gore hounds with their explorations of the way people and animals can die and their OTT, “real” footage. They were narrated by Michael Carr’s Frances Gross, a faux doctor who led viewers through the sick world of animal sacrifice and blood-thirsty death.

JT Perry will direct the remake, which has been in development for a while by Don Murphy’s Angryfilms and producer Susan Montford. “In a world where you can see deaths everyday on the Internet, (Gross is looking for a new challenge," Montford told Variety.
