It’s been 30 years since Robin Williams had a regular role on a TV series (that was Mork And Mindy), but he’s apparently looking to get back into the swing of things, entering discussions to star in a new comedy show from David E Kelley.
No deals have been signed just yet, but Kelley has set up a gig with 20th Century Fox Television and network CBS for a new workplace comedy about a high-flying ad executive who shares an office with his daughter. Kelley, the writer who brought the world The Practice, Boston Legal and Ally McBeal, most recently created Harry's Law, which ran on US screens for two seasons until this year.
While Williams was once a big star on TV, he’s since gone on to more acclaim in the movies, heading back to the small screen for the odd guest appearance and to host Saturday Night Live. He most recently cropped up playing a version of himself on ace comedy Louie. Film-wise, he’ll next be seen in The Big Weddin****g and Lee Daniels’ The Butler, where he plays President Dwight Eisenhower.
