The two men behind the Ringu series and screenplay for the original Dark Water are planning yet another assault on our delicate nerves. Director Hideo Nakata and producer Taka Ichise are teaming for a new film with 20th Century Fox and Regency Pictures.
The film which is, you guessed it, a horror, is apparently loosely based on a real Japanese murder case, from a script by upcoming screenwriter Eric Heisserer (we say upcoming only cause he hasn't had any films made yet, but he has one other project in development so good luck Eric!).
So what can we expect? Well, hopefully not big-haired ghost girls and dripping taps (sooooo 2003) but with any luck the same sense of creepy anticipation and (possibly supernatural) danger lurking around every corner. We'll keep you up to date as we hear more, unless that VHS we watched last week comes back to haunt us.
