We still don't know what the eighth Star Wars instalment will be subtitled, but we are slowly starting to learn more about the movie. Take the fact that one of the earliest shooting days featured a scene that picked up directly from the end of The Force Awakens and its revelation of Luke Skywalker. According to director Rian Johnson, there's a good reason for that.

“I don’t want to skip ahead two years,” Johnson tells USA Today. “I want to see the very next moment of what happens.” According to the director, a large part of the movie will be spent addressing why Luke (Mark Hamill) has sequestered himself away and what he'll do next.

And then there's Daisy Ridley's Rey, who is coming to terms of what it means to be so strongly connected to the Force. "Part of what’s she’s dealing with is the realization that she has this power and this gift,” Johnson explains. “She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential."

We'll have to wait for the rest, but hopefully a trailer will happen along soon. Star Wars: Episode VIII is out in the UK on 15 December this year.
