It would seem that Daniel Craig’s James Bond will have to contend with an old enemy in the next 007 outing. But not one of Bond’s former nemeses, one of Craig’s. Yes, Rhys Ifans, who as Jed caused no end of trouble for Craig’s Joe in Enduring Love, has apparently been cast in** Bond 23**.

While word of the casting comes from the Telegraph, its presence in the Mandrake gossip column has us holding it the rumour pen until there’s some official confirmation. And there’s no indication who exactly Ifans would be playing, though it would certainly be fun to see him making Craig’s life a misery once again as the pair definitely had a twisted chemistry in Enduring Love.

The column also appears to confirm that Javier Bardem is locked and loaded to play the big villain, and mentions that Sam Mendes will be shooting a big chunk of the movie in South Africa. Other than that, few details of the new movie have leaked out other than the fact that it’ll arrive on these shores on October 26 next year, where as our transatlantic cousins will have to wait until November 9.
