Ryan Reynolds has signed to star in a movie from Kieran and Michele Mulroney, the husband-and-wife team who wrote the Justice League movie.

But before any geeks get their hopes up that the currently-in-limbo George Miller movie might be back on track, and that Reynolds may finally be donning the Flash’s red britches, we should point out that the movie in question is a comedy called Paper Man.

And, really, Reynolds isn’t even the star. That honour goes to the always-excellent Jeff Daniels, who will play a failed author rapidly approaching middle age. The movie will focus on his relationship with a Long Island teen – which is as far away from spandex and superpowers as you can get.

There’s no word yet on who Reynolds will play in the film, but he wasn’t the only cast member to be announced today – Lisa Kudrow is also on board.

The movie, which was developed through Sundance’s writer and director labs, will start shooting early November in New York and Montauk. We’re quite keen to see how this turns out – the Mulroneys bagged the Justice League seemingly out of nowhere, so this will be the first time their work will be placed under the spotlight.
