Jean Reno, whose new serial killer flick, The Crimson Rivers, is already garnering comparisons with Se7en, has revealed that he will be working with his directorial mentor Luc Besson again in the near future. "I will be back with Luc Besson on my next project, says Reno (who has just finished filming John McTiernan’s Rollerball remake, in which he plays a Russian baddie), on the JoBlo website. "Luc will write the script and co-produce the movie with me. Although he won’t direct it, I will be acting in it. It’s gonna be a France/Japan collaboration." Reno is sketchy on detail, but the film, an espionage actioner called Kiss Of The Dragon, will also star Jet Li, Tcheky Karyo and Bridget Fonda. Elsewhere, Reno shoots down rumours that he’ll be appearing in the Matrix sequel, but does mention the role he was offered in the first film. "I couldn’t make it for the first one because I was shooting Godzilla in Hollywood," he says. "They asked me at the time but I couldn’t take it. It would’ve been too much time away from my family. It’s too bad I know, but seven months in Sydney is a long time."
