Originally earmarked for early summer, Same Kind Of Different As Me has since moseyed down the release schedule, whistling nonchalantly as it goes. It still lacks a UK release date but it does have a new trailer, full of Renée Zellwegery goodness. You can watch it below.

The Oscar-winning actress plays a woman in a floundering marriage with Greg Kinnear’s art dealer, Ron Hall. Can Djimon Hounsou’s mystical stranger – a homeless man with an abrasive way with words – help them on the path to a miraculous journey of self-knowledge and reconciliation? We’re saying that he can! Especially as it’s in the synopsis.

First-time director Michael Carney also has Jon Voight aboard in a story that he’s helped adapt from Hall’s book. It may yet belie hasty judgment but there’s a distinct whiff of awards-bait-gone-awry about this one.

Zellweger, of course, is about to reprise her turn as Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones’s Baby. That one is out on September 16.

Greg Kinnear, meanwhile, is appearing in a different sort of family drama, Ira Sachs’ Little Men, on September 23.
