Reitman And Carrey Making Pierre Pierre

Jason Reitman, Oscar-nominated director of Juno (which you really shouldn't backlash against just because it's suddenly trendy) has selected his next project. Reitman will team with Jim Carrey to make Pierre Pierre.

The comedy, written by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton, is a politically incorrect story of a French nihilist who takes a stolen painting from Paris to London. Is the politically incorrect part that he'll have a comedy French accent?

The budget is reported to be just $13 million, which is literally not usually enough to pay Jim Carrey's wages. It sounds like a canny move on Carrey's part, to team up with a hot director who's professed to having no interest in making big budget movies just for the payday. Carrey's best work remains Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which was fairly low budget. We heart Jason Reitman, so we think these two could cook up something very interesting.
