Michael Douglas will go against the movie plot trend for male actors - himself included - to be romatically involved with much younger actresses in his next film. His co-star in Still Life will be Meryl Streep - just four years his junior. The film centers on a couple whose marriage is on the way out but who are forced to re-appraise their relationship after their daughter dies and they have to look after their grandchildren. Mimi Leder, the director of the first of this summer's space lump movies, Deep Impact , is lined up to boss the show. Although both she and Streep are committed to the project, neither have finalized their deals. The stars' schedules mean the film is unlikely to start shooting before Autumn 1999.
