We suppose this is some sort of Karmic reward for having to suffer through the Voldemort make-up in the Harry Potter films: Ralph Fiennes has signed on to romantic drama Coronet, which would see him in an affair with Quantum Of Solace’s Olga Kurylenko.

Temple Clark, who has worked as a storyboard artist on such films as Children Of Men, The Reader, Stardust and several Harry Potters, is making the leap to writing and directing for the new production.

Fiennes will play Guy, an English graphic designer who moves to Prague for work, and ends up falling for Maryska, the woman who cleans his home.

British producers Dominic and Lee Santana are producing and announced the film at Cannes. It’ll start shooting this autumn in London and Prague.

Incidentally, if you’re looking for the best in Cannes coverage, you’d be hard-pressed to beat Damon Wise’s incisive blog entries and the sheer lunacy mixed with star interviews that is the Videblogisodes.
