Sherlock might be grabbing all the attention (not always of the positive sort) right now, but let us not forget that there are other Holmes adaptations out there. Comedy version Holmes And Watson, featuring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as the iconic duo, has just cast Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Laurie.

This one has been in development for a while but started coming together last year. The cast already also includes Kelly Macdonald as Mrs. Hudson, Rob Brydon as Inspector Lestrade, Rebecca Hall as Dr. Grace Hart and Lauren Lapkus as Millie, a young woman who boasts a mind almost as keen as that of Holmes himself.

We don't know yet what role either of the new recruits is taking, though surely Fiennes could bring gravitas to Moriarty. We'd have pegged Laurie as Lestrade, but of course that position is now taken. Etan Cohen, who worked on the script, has recently kicked off directing the movie in London.

Fiennes was last seen in Hail, Caesar! and heard in Kubo And The Two Strings, and will be exercising his comedy chops as the voice of Alfred in next month's The Lego Batman Movie. As for Laurie, he's appearing across the pond in US TV series Chance, and will be among the voices in the new animated take on The Canterville Ghost.
