Director Seabstián Lelio has already found success with A Fantastic Woman. which is nominated in this year's Best Foreign Language Film Oscar category. He's making his English-language debut with Disobedience, which stars Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams. Find the trailer below.

Lelio worked with Rebecca Lenkiewicz to adapt Naomi Alderman's 2007 novel, which follows what happens when Ronit Krushka (Weisz) returns home from New York to the tight knit Orthodox Jewish community in London where she grew up after her Rabbi father dies.

Met with cautious welcome, but the lingering spectre of disapproval from those she left behind, Ronit realises her feelings for an old friend (McAdams' Esti Kuperman) are rekindling. Not only would their romance be seen as taboo, but Esti is also married to Ronit's cousin Dovid (Alessandro Nivola), her father's favourite student and an established Rabbi himself. As the passion grows, the danger of discovery rises...

Disobedience will be in US cinemas on 27 April, but UK audiences will have to wait until 24 August.
