Rachel Weisz in Denial

It's not always easy to make real-life legal battles as dramatic for the big screen as they might be. Fictional courtroom clashes, after all, can rely on Grisham-esque twists. But Denial, with its powerful subject matter, shouldn't need such tricks. A new poster and featurette about the movie are online – find the featurette below and the poster lower down the page.

Adapted by David Hare from Professor Deborah E. Lipstadt’s book History On Trial: My Day In Court With A Holocaust Denier, the film will find Lipstadt (Rachel Weisz) fighting a legal conflict for truth against historian David Irving (Timothy Spall), who sued her for libel when she labelled him a holocaust denier. It was up to Lipstadt and her team to prove the vital legal truth that the Holocaust was a real event.

It might seem like a simple case, but Irving fought tooth and nail for his side. With Tom Wilkinson, Andrew Scott and Jack Lowden also in the cast, and Mick Jackson directing, Denial will be out in the UK on 27 January.
