UPDATE: Kyle Chandler has now joined the cast alongside Jesse Plemons, Lamorne Morris, and Billy Magnussen.

Rachel McAdams has been in more serious fare of late (though Doctor Strange had its share of laugh lines), but she's headed back into comedy territory for a new movie, and will share the screen with Jason Bateman in Game Night.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who last brought us Vacation, are back behind the camera for the movie, which has been in development at New Line since at least 2013. The script, which the directors have re-written based on an original draft by Mark Perez, sees several couples gathering for their regular planned game night (one assumes charades, Twister, maybe some mild gambling) when something goes terribly wrong. It is a comedy, so we're assuming World War III doesn't kick off, but you never know...

With the directors attached and two stars in place, this one should start shifting into a higher gear soon enough.

Bateman is working on Ozark, a drama series he's developed and will created for Netflix, and which is scheduled to arrive at some point this year. McAdams has several projects in development, including period drama Disobedience.
