A celebration featuring a group of friends that gets quickly out of hand. Sexy girls, offbeat guys and police involvement. Given Todd Phillips’ name in the credits, you might be forgiven for thinking that this is a stealth trailer for The Hangover 3, but in actual fact it’s a promo for a new comedy Phillips signed on to produce with Joel Silver called Project X. With Phillips and Silver gathering a cast of young up-and-comers including Thomas Mann, Jonathan Daniel Brown, Oliver Cooper and Nichole O’Connor, along with ads director Nima Nourizadeh, the aim here appears to have been to apply the found footage genre to a madcap high school comedy. So, in many ways, it’s sort of The Hangover meets **American Pie **by way of Paranormal Activity. So… Parahormonal Activity, then?
The plot finds three teens throwing what they hope will be a cool birthday party, with the aim of establishing themselves among their peers or just having girls actually notice them. But in this modern day and age, it’s even easier than ever for word of a party like this to spread, and soon things are getting out of control…
There’s no word of a UK release date yet, though we’d expect to see it not long after the US release on March 2, 2012.
