It sounds like a director taking a job because he wants to spend a lot of time on Hawaii. But we’re sure regular Adam Sandler collaborator Frank “The Waterboy” Coraci will be working hard on Hawaiian Dick, a supernatural private eye thriller.

Set on the island in 1953, the plot sees a downbeat ‘tec embroiled in the kidnapping case of a Hawaiian girl who is found dead but just won’t stay deceased. Written by Freddy Vs Jason's Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, it’s based on a comic of the same name by B Clay Moore and Steven Griffin. Coraci is now looking for a leading man – Johnny Knoxville was slated to star at one point, but he’s no longer attached.
