Following the big screen failure of The Avengers, fans of that other surreal 60s British TV series The Prisoner will be hoping that the legacy of Number Six will be safe in the hands of Usual Suspects scribe Christopher McQuarrie, who has committed to the big screen project as screenwriter. The movie, which was locked in talks for some time, now appears to be getting underway with news that The Sixth Sense producer Barry Mendel has also signed to steer the production. Simon West, busy tackling the big screen version of Tomb Raider, is still attached to direct and will act as executive producer alongside the show
