Prison Break May Return For Limited Series

First it was 24, then The X-Files, and now Fox are considering bringing back Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell for a Prison Break limited series.

Miller himself has been talking about this for a while, saying earlier this year that he'd "floated the idea" to the Murdoch Channel. Apparently it was a good pitch, since the show is now developing.

The original series ran from 2005-2009. The format on the cards for the revival is akin to 24 Live Another Day, in that it would be a complete story of a dozen or so episodes, rather than six months worth of open-ended escapism.

Without getting too spoilery, we'd have to assume given the state of play at the end of the line, that the new series would be a missing adventure plugging somewhere into the existing storyline. It can't really take place after the final episode. Not with those actors...

Fox aren't officially commenting, so there's nothing like a start date or air date so far. But we'll next see Miller and Purcell reteamed as, respectively, Captain Cold and Heatwave in the DC Arrow/Flash spin-off Legends Of Tomorrow. That one starts on the CW next year.
