Isn't it dreadful that when we hear the word "Vatican" associated with a film, we assume it's going to be a Dan Brown-style conspiracy thriller? But no! The Vatican Tapes is set to be a horror movie, and may help us slowly get over the hurt of all those Robert Langdon stories.

Unhelpfully for our current state of mind, the plot is under wraps, but we're told that it's "spooky" and in the vein of **Rosemary's Baby **or The Exorcist. Hmm, the Pope gets pregnant and needs an exorcism? Wait, that doesn't sound right.

Christopher Borrelli, who wrote creepy kidnap horror Whisper, is writing and directing, based on a story he wrote with Chris Morgan. Lionsgate and Lakeshore are producing.
